Kavanati for law firms: Hebrew documents, English names, no gibberish

Last updated: 19 October 2026 · 4 min read

A law office writes in two languages inside the same paragraph: a Hebrew statement of claim with a company name in English, a clause quoted in English, an email to foreign counsel right after a Hebrew one to the court. The keyboard stays wherever the last window left it. Kavanati fixes the result as you type (akuo becomes שלום, רקאשןמקר becomes retainer), in Word, Outlook, the browser and your case-management system, and the text is processed on the computer itself, never sent anywhere.

The actual pain

Nobody in a law firm lacks the skill to type. The problem is the switch. You finish an English email to the other side's counsel, open the Hebrew draft, and the first line of the brief comes out as ,chgv. You search the document system for a client and get nothing, because the name was typed in the wrong layout. Case numbers survive, since digits are the same on both layouts, but the letters next to them do not, and a wrong letter in a reference is the kind of thing that gets filed and found later.

What Kavanati does about it

1. It fixes the word, not the whole document

When you finish a word that is clearly wrong-layout typing, Kavanati deletes it, retypes it in the language you meant and switches the keyboard, so the rest of the sentence comes out right. It only acts on a word that cannot be a real word in the language you were typing; a real English term inside a Hebrew sentence (a company name, a Latin phrase) is left alone.

2. It works where lawyers actually type

Word, Outlook, the browser, a document-management or case-management system, a chat window: Kavanati listens at the keyboard, so it does not depend on the program. Programs you never want touched can be set to English-only, Hebrew-only or off under Per-app rules in the tray menu.

3. Every fix is reversible

Ctrl+Z right after a fix puts back exactly what you typed. Undo the same word twice and it is protected for good; a word you type three times joins your personal dictionary (Pro). A selection can always be flipped by hand with Pause or a double Ctrl, free and unlimited.

4. Confidentiality is built in, not promised

Detection runs on the computer. The text you type, client names and case details included, is never sent to us or to anyone. The only network calls are the update check and the license check. The security page lists what you can verify yourself.

What it does not do

It does not read your screen, store your documents or upload anything. It fixes Hebrew ↔ English typing only, not spelling or grammar, and it will not touch a real word. It is not a legal-specific product and does not know your case-management system; it just fixes the keyboard underneath it. On a remote or virtual desktop it needs to be installed on the side where you type.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe for confidential client material?
The detection runs on your computer and the text you type is not sent to us or to any server. The app only contacts the network for the update check and the license check. The security page describes what you can verify yourself, including traffic and file hashes.
Will it change an English term or a Latin phrase inside a Hebrew document?
No. It converts only a word that is clearly wrong-layout typing and leaves real words in either language alone. If it ever fixes something it should not, Ctrl+Z reverts it in one press and the word can be protected.
Does it work in Outlook, Word and our document system?
It works at the keyboard level, so it works in desktop programs and browsers generally, Word and Outlook included. Any program can be set to a specific mode, or off, in the per-app rules. On a remote desktop it must be installed where you type.
What does it cost for a firm?
Business is from ₪25 per computer per month, billed yearly, cheaper at volume, with one key for all the computers. Organizations get a free 30-day pilot. An individual can use it free every day (15 automatic fixes a day after a 7-day trial) or go Pro for a one-time ₪149.
